5 ideas for creating a beautiful outdoor living space
Spring has sprung and we are excited to revamp our outdoor spaces for the warmer weather ahead! As interior designers, we understand that luxurious spaces aren’t only meant for the indoors but can expand beyond the walls of your home. Especially since families are spending more time in residence, it is important to add value and comfort to every space, indoors and out.
Here are some fabulous ideas for creating a beautiful outdoor living space.
Embrace the views. Oftentimes, beautiful outdoor areas require few furniture pieces to transform the space. There is beauty in simplicity. This is especially true if you have stunning backyard views. Here, our design team fashioned this Park City patio with simple and modern pieces, so as not to distract from the breathtaking view of the Utah Mountainscape.
Make it cozy. If you spend your summer months in the mountains like we do, you’re already familiar with the cooler evening temperatures. Even during the warmest summer months, a cozy firepit to gather around at night is a must! Adding additional cozy elements like fur or warm throw blankets makes these mountain patios feel even more special.
Outdoor-indoor. For those who are fully vested in bringing the outdoors in, you may want to consider these fabulous floor-to-ceiling folding doors. These doors can instantly open up your home into an outdoor living space or entertainment area. Here, our design team blurred the boundary between the outdoors and indoors to create a bold and beautiful space for entertaining, dining, and pure relaxation.
Create conversation. When designing an outdoor living space, it is important to consider implementing a layout that will encourage conversation while maximizing your entertaining space. Create a conversation area by arranging the furniture around a single point like a table or firepit. This creates a natural gathering area where guests can be comfortable yet sociable.
Keep things simple. There is nothing wrong with taking a more intimate and minimalistic approach. If entertaining is not a priority of yours, create a soothing environment that facilitates deep relaxation instead. Here, our design team kept the colors soothing, neutral, and simple. Similarly, the clean and modern furniture creates a type of zen environment where one can relax completely.
