The Meeting. The first and most crucial step in the design process is meeting a potential client. This valuable time is spent getting to know the client’s needs, wants, and personality while creating a trustful bond that will propel the process forward. Factors such as family dynamics and lifestyle will also play a powerful role in the design process. In interior design, understanding the client’s tastes and aesthetic guides the design process and ultimately helps create a final product that the client will swoon over. Since design is so subjective, our designers make sure to cater to their client’s style in every way. Each home should represent the clientele in an individually unique and interesting way. No two clients are alike, therefore no two projects are alike.
For many of our interior designers, their creative design process is a very intimate yet exciting experience. From getting to know their client’s needs to utilizing their artistic ability to styling and installation, our designers are passionate creators through each step of the design process and strive to create a spaces that really speak to who their clients are.
The Inspiration. Our designers draw inspiration from an infinite variety of sources. From music, to fashion, to movies, to people, our designers gather inspiration from anything. Even the clients themselves can serve as an inspirational source and affect the design of a space. A common place for our designers to find inspiration is in the world around them. Nature has a powerful way of affecting interior design. Its beautifully rich yet harmonious color pallets inspire some of the most stunning and tranquil designs. Our designers love to take in the natural landscape surrounding the clients home and play off of its colors, textures, and materials.
The Creation. During the creation phase of the design process, our designers draw upon the important information they have gathered in the client discovery phase, as well as inspiration from details of the project itself and their own sources to begin designing each space. This is where our designers use their keen artistic abilities to create and perfect a beautiful home. From selecting materials to creating design boards, all design decisions are made and finalized with the client in this phase of the process. Our designers spend a lot of time during this phase selecting finishes, fabrics, and ordering furniture for their client’s home. Our designers are very detail oriented during this time to make sure that no detail is left out.
The Waiting. The slowest part of the design process is the waiting. After orders have been placed, our designers anxiously anticipate delivery. During this time, construction is finishing up and excitement for installation is brewing.
The Installation. Our favorite part of the design process, installation includes moving furniture into the home, placing accessories, and taking care of all the last minute details to make sure the house is perfect. Usually done over the course of one or two days, the designer and a small team works hard to put everything together. Our team ensures that luxury is in every detail. From housewares to flowers, we make sure that every one of our client’s needs is not only met, but satisfied. We love this part of the design process because we can see all of the hard work come together to create a beautifully designed space. Experiencing the physical coming together of a conceptual design idea is one of our favorite sights to see.
The Reveal. The final hoorah of the design process, the reveal is when the clients can move into their newly designed home. To see the look of excitement and awe on a client’s face is the most rewarding part of being an interior designer. This is the reaction that we strive for and keep in mind throughout this process, where time, energy, and emotion are invested into making the client’s dream home a reality.
