Before Photos – Deer Valley Remodel
A rustic mountain home generally focuses on traditional warm wood tones and natural elements. While we love this traditional style, you can see the difference between the before and after photos in this remodel. Before the remodel, this home felt dark and heavy. Many of the rooms felt smaller with closed off spaces and an outdated style. Below, you can see how we opened up the entryway and great room using high vaulted ceilings, natural wood walls, a stone hearth, and modern fixtures. This allows the space to keep that rustic mountain feel while making it feel current, fresh, and up-to-date.
A kitchen can make or break the design of a home, as it is the main gathering place on many occasions. With that in mind, we believe it’s important for the kitchen to be open and light with a clean and airy aesthetic to feel inviting to guests. In our remodel design we decided to focus on opening up the layout to create a more functional design. Our design team centred the kitchen around a large island with a sink and bar seating, so guests could socialize while cooking. We also selected a white backsplash to contrast with the dark counter tops, portraying a well balanced look. The open shelving style is a great way to add dimension and space to a room and display pieces of interest. This kitchen became the perfect blend of fresh mountain style and functionality.
In opening up the design of this Deer Valley remodel we were able to create more flow throughout the home. As one travels from room to room, they can see how the design is connected and well balanced. We love how the hallway pictured below effortlessly flows from the great room into the kitchen. Connecting these large gathering areas allows for a perfect entertaining space for family and friends.
For the bedrooms, our team focused on a more classic and simplistic design. The bedroom presented below encompasses this elegant style with the black bed frame, curated art, and mix of patterns. We love the monochromatic scheme throughout this design as well, and the art that embodies the surrounding outdoors.
Are you looking for a way to add color and life to your bathroom design? The blue mosaic tile paired with the brass fixtures in the shower pictured below create a timeless and unique look. We also kept the natural wood in the floor and ceiling of this master bathroom to bring that outdoorsy feel inside this mountain modern remodel. A bold wallpaper is another great way to add dimension and character to a smaller bathroom. Below you can see how the gold accents can brighten and bring warmth to a space.
This downstairs living room was remodeled to depict a traditional rustic cabin with a few modern touches. The log cabin feel and the stone hearth fireplace were designed to make one feel like they’re stepping back through time. We love the addition of the old wooden skis and wooden log bundle in the corner. The cozy furniture really ties in the whole idea behind this design.
The dining room in this remodel is one of our favorite spaces, as it’s surrounded by windows, allowing for a lot of natural lighting. The airy feel the outside light brings, paired with the natural wood paneling in this room makes you feel like you’re truly experiencing a mountain getaway. The large round table is also a great addition to this circular room and will be perfect for hosting beautiful dinner parties for friends and family alike.
