Alder and Tweed

Hi! Have a look around! Let us know if you have any questions.

Interior Design has seen some big changes throughout the ages, with each decade curating a unique style of its own. Our design team loves to incorporate these different styles to create a design that combines the best looks from each decade. Join us as we introduce you to some of the signature designs seen throughout the times.

1920’s Art Deco. This distinctive periodic style accentuates luxury interior design with sharp lines and geometric shapes. Our designers love to create concepts that incorporate bold colors and visually interesting patterns, giving a nod to this era in history that is rich in luxurious architecture and high design. Inspired by 1920’s Art Deco, Alder & Tweed recreated that timeless “Gatsby” feel in this penthouse suite bar. The gold accents and bold colors captured in these other designs demonstrate the perfect way to capture the era while adding a unique flare to your home.

1930’s-1940’s Modernist. Moving into a more clean and simplistic look, Modernist design is all about pairing sharp lines with modern touches. Creating an open layout also plays an essential role in capturing that Modernist design aesthetic, an aesthetic that is still very influential in the design world today. Alder & Tweed has captured the essence of the Modernist period in this mountain modern home, bringing in furniture and lighting pieces inspired by the decade, as well as designing with some of the most popular colors of that time, incorporating grays, blacks, and oranges.

1950’s Mid-Century Modern. Featuring more furniture, Scandinavian simplicity, earthy tones, and natural elements, Mid-Century Modern has become a universal design used throughout the times. Our team loves to infuse this style with natural elements such as wood and stone in their designs, bringing a sense of the outdoors into your home. These earthy notes bring a feeling of serenity and peace into the design for everyone to enjoy.

1960’s Post Modern. Funky and fresh, Post Modern design embraces unconventional ideas emphasizing color. This playful style is the perfect blend of bold statements and classy details, using artsy and extravagant features. Kelly Wearstler has mastered this style with her striking use of color and abstract patterns. If you’re looking for a way to liven up your space, Post Modern design may be your style!

Each decade has its own unique flare that speaks to us in a personal way. Whatever decade you’re drawn to, bold or classic style, simplistic or more funky, our talented design team draws upon the signature style of these eras in a way that will leave your home feeling fresh yet timeless.
